Don’t Forget Why You’re Training
A long, fulfilling life requires work and constant tending to your physical and metabolic health. If we are shooting to live through our 80’s with optimal health and independence, we should be investing in our fitness and nutrition every decade. There is no better place to ensure this consistency than a CrossFit affiliate. This is our bread and butter. You will see people in all chapters of life show up every day to sharpen their fitness, build supportive connections, and learn a thing or two about nutrition that will have lifelong impact.
The 25-year-old may be learning how to be an athlete again after hanging up high school sports and finishing college. The 40-year-old may be thinking about their fitness for parenthood and keeping up with their pre-teens on the next family adventure. The 55-year-old may be training to prove their doctor wrong. They aren’t too old to lose 30 pounds, jump on a box, or climb a rope. They can stay off medications and be an elite athlete. The 70-year-old is fighting to keep their independence, keeping up with the grandchildren, and showing the young people what life is all about. Having the best life for as long as possible until the Lord calls us home.
Remind yourself the next time you are in the middle of a tough workout. Why are you training? You are tending the garden to live the best life and be ready for everything in front of you.
One more rep. One more sprint. One more pull-up. One more power clean.
